Versa-Pak NiCad - Worst EVER - J Nog - Meriden, CT USA
I have several Versa-Pak tools, which I really like. They are small and versatile, and get the job done when I need a quick power tool. No good for building a deck, but great for simple fixes around the house. However, I have to say these Versa-Pak NiCad batteries are just the worst rechargeable batteries ever made. They will completely die somewhere within 6 months to 2 years of purchasing them. I purchased 2 of the 2-pack/charger kits (4 batteries), and that's what mine did. I subsequently replaced them with the NiMH batteries (which work with the same chargers), and they work like a charm. Stick with the NiMH batteries, and avoid the NiCads like the plague. This 6-pack may seem like a good deal, but how good is it if you'll be recycling the entire set in a year?
